Abstract

When it is considered in terms of art function, it can be said that an artwork generally includes the views of a subject and conveys the essence of the problem to the audience. The work of art also provides an opportunity for discussion and discussion platform on the subject matter. It is an undeniable fact that digital media is an important communication tool for social awareness in various subjects. Global, social and environmental questions are boldly discussed by those interested in the digital environment, and the theme chosen by various methods is emphasized and presented to the audience. Today, activism has spread even more with the development of digital media and digital communication. Beyond the boundaries of museums, galleries or exhibitions, works of art can reach a wider audience in the virtual space. As a representative of today's postmodern feminist photography, Liora K represents an activist style with her photography project “Feminist Photography”. Liora K's photographs generally serve to raise social awareness of the freedom of the woman's body and the release of oppression. During the stage of Liora K's "Feminist Photography" project, different male and female models posed and protesting words were written on these bodies. In this project, Liora K aimed to reflect the different aspects of women with the words written on their bodies. These slogans written on bodies such as tattoos are expressions of various women's rights. Throughout the study, it is aimed to examine Liora K’s “The Feminist Photos” project with the descriptive method within the scope of feminist policies, feminist writings on the body and activist photography in digital media. Taking into account the postmodern feminists' perceptions of photography, Judith Butler's “gender performativity”, Gayatri Spivak's “feminist participation” and Roland Barthes's concept of “signfunction”, it is revealed how sensitive points of feminist problems are brought to light and the importance of the role of artistic creativity at this stage.
