Abstract

Establishing professional standards; optimizing the status of workers in the business life (career management), wage management, production efficiency and so on. It is of great importance to organize and conduct activities. One of the social state duties is the structuring and supervision of business life according to the needs of the age. These standards are also necessary in terms of designing the training mechanism. The upbringing of individuals in the qualifications needed by the sectors will ensure that the enterprises make the right choice in meeting their labor needs. The structuring of vocational education according to the status and proficiency level in the business life will remove the ambiguities and deficiencies that graduates will encounter in business life. The Vocational Qualifications Authority (MYK) has now qualified for 35 branches at different levels for the printing sector with the contribution of sector components (industry, universities, non-governmental organizations, etc.). The standards established by the MYK are of great importance in this respect. According to these standards, 'Level 5' corresponds to the status that vocational college graduates will undertake in business life. In article Istanbul University VSTS Printing and Publication Technology Program curriculum was evaluated to determine the level of compliance with the "Offset Printing Unit" competency, which is the most common branch of the printing sector.
